Welcome to

Sedation For Dental Anxiety

Experience a stress-free and comfortable dental visit with our safe and effective sedation solutions for patients with dental anxiety or fear.

Did you know that nearly half of the adult population in the US has true dental fear or dental anxiety? Dental anxiety is a very common dental problem. Most common reason for developing dental fear is a bad previous dental experience.

The Justin Dental and Braces team understands these dental fears and anxieties, which is why we created our practice in a way that will help you, get rid of them. When you walk through our doors, you will not even feel like you are at the dentist. Our aim is to make your visit as comfortable and stress-free as possible. We have a full range of sedation options, including nitrous oxide, oral sedation and IV sedation.

Nitrous Oxide (“Laughing Gas”)

Also commonly referred to as “laughing gas”, this method is ideal for those requiring quick recovery following a procedure. Nitrous oxide can be administered and quickly flushed out by oxygen within minutes. Following a nitrous oxide treatment, the patient will leave Justin Dental and Braces as alert and bright-eyed as upon arrival.

Oral Sedation:

Oral sedation involves use of a tiny pill, which will allow you to undergo multiple procedures at once, and you won’t even know you went to the dentist! This tiny pill calms all nerves and takes you into a twilight sedated state. While you are sedated, our team of dentists performs your dental treatment. When you “wake up” you are back home and comfortable. It is that simple!

IV Sedation:

The most comprehensive – and safest – sedation procedure. By having direct access to your circulatory system, we can take you to a deeper level of sedation by using modern sedation medications. When you are under IV sedation, the Justin Dental and Braces team continuously monitors your blood pressure, heart rate, and the amount of oxygen in your blood.

IV sedation was introduced into dentistry for dental anxiety. Fear, nervousness and anxiety can trigger cardiac events. However, when you are under IV sedation you are very calm and relaxed. Your anxiety level is so low that your dental treatment can be done in a much safer health environment. If you have high blood pressure, IV sedation also allows direct access to give you medications to keep your blood pressure at a safe, controlled level.

During your initial consultation appointment, we take the time to review your medical history, any anxiety history and discuss any fears or concerns. With your input and preference, we will determine if IV sedation is a good option for you.

During the IV sedation procedure, we will give you a combination of medications that will really help you “forget that you were at the dentist”! In fact, many of our patients are pleasantly surprised about their experience afterwards. It is very likely you may feel that your 2-hour appointment only took 20 minutes!
