Dental Bonding

What’s Dental Bonding?

The dental bonding procedure can help correct imperfections that are causing you to feel badly about your smile. Bonding uses a material known as composite resin to cover these flaws and perfect your front teeth. It can be used if your teeth are cracked, broken, chipped or if you have gaps and spaces between teeth. Bonding can last for a decade or longer with proper oral care and hygiene.

Who’s a candidate for Dental Bonding?

Adult patients who are looking to correct their smile problems are good candidates for bonding. The procedure is especially ideal for those visiting the office who are fearful of needles, since most bonding requires no anesthetic at all. Bonding can have a serious impact on the way that your teeth look. They are more cost-effective than other alternatives available to you.

What is done during Dental Bonding?

We begin by applying a bonding agent to the front of your teeth. We then match the composite material that we’ll be using to your teeth. The material is then placed over the teeth and smoothed evenly into place. We make small details to the bonding so that it looks like a natural, real tooth. The material is then cured with a brilliant light and hardened into place. Once the material has become hardened, it will last for about a decade before it may need to be repaired or replaced. The procedure is done quickly in our office and has a drastic effect on the appearance of your smile.
